The big day is just around the corner for Run for James as the Play for James Foundation’s 3-year-old “champion in waiting” will soon be on the track in actual competition for the very first time.
About a week ago the big colt was moved from New York’s Belmont Park to Pennsylvania where the racing schedule held a greater number of dates and races that fit his best distance and experience profile. So, Run for James will be fighting it out with 7 other horses on Monday, May 15 at Parx Racetrack in Bensalem, PA in the sixth race of the day. Post time is scheduled for 3:10 PM.
The maiden special weight event is limited to 3-year-olds with no previous racing record and carries with it a purse of $46,000.
Run for James will be busting it out of the box from the #1 post position, which seems like a great “sign” to us. Let’s all hope that #1 is also his order of finish at the end of the one mile race.
If you’d like to see the race and don’t live in the Philly area, I’m told you can go to YouTube about 10 minutes after the race, type in video Parx Racing and the date, and view the event online.
