Our last report had our favorite thoroughbred, Run for James, arriving at New York’s Aqueduct Racetrack and prepping for his first start at the legendary park in a few weeks.
According to his owner and Play for James Foundation director, Alan Furst, Run for James is “doing fantastic” in training and showing potential championship form. His trainers estimate that in a matter of days he’ll be ready to roll.
Just as soon as we have word of a firm date for his first test in competition, we will let you know. Until then, we’re renewing our request to help guarantee that Run for James’ first outing will be a huge success by joining our Run for James Winners Circle.
All you need to do is place a $25 “bet” on the big chestnut colt using the convenient donation form below. When you do, you’ll receive a handsome Run for James, leather-mounted, engraved brass nameplate like the one he’s wearing on his bridle in the photo. It makes a great key chain, luggage pull, or just a cool collectible.
Better still, funds you donate will be used to bolster the James P. Koehler Memorial Scholarship, which provides tuition for needy student-athletes at New Jersey high schools. Last year, in just a few short months, we managed to raise over $6000. This year we’re aiming at increasing that number to $60,000.
We really hope you’ll help us meet this important goal… and THANKS in advance.
